Description: a genus of columnar cacti that can reach 7 metres (23 ft) in height in their habitat. The green stems are angular and bear diurnal flowers on one side during the summer. It is now part of Pachycereus.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in a bright place.
Temperature: they tolerate a minimum of 10°C (50°F) or so.
Water: average.
Cultivation tips: raise from seed or propagate by cuttings in the summer.
