Habitat: foggy deserts on Peruvian Andes.
Description: a group of small, globular, slightly squashed cacti with variable spination, often pectinate that flower in the summer after five years or so from sowing. It is now within Oreocereus.
Soil: basic mix.
Location: grow in full sun.
Temperature: a minimum temperature of 8-10°C (46-50°F) avoids scar formation.
Water: average. During the growing period they enjoy humid air so spraying with water is beneficial.
Cultivation tips: slow-growing; raise from seed.
